Yuan-Jen Chang (Richard)
Changy@Colorado.edu
Yuan-Jen Chang (Richard) was born in Taiwan. He received his B.S. in the Department of Mechanical Engineering from National Taiwan University (NTU), Taiwan, and M.S. in the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics from National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), Taiwan, respectively, in 1996 and in 1998. Prior to joining Dr. V. M. Bright’s group, Mr. Chang worked in Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), Taiwan, as a mechanical design engineer. He used SolidWorks for the mechanical design in the development of Semi-Solid Injection Forming using Thixomolding on Magnesium. Currently, he is a doctoral candidate in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Colorado at Boulder. His research focuses on the fabrication of liquid lenses using electrowetting on dielectric (EWOD) technology as well as the quarter waveplate using form birefringence for Chip-Scale Atomic Clocks (CSAC). He gained a lot of hand-on experience on photolithography, e-beam lithography, thin-film deposition, and wet- and dry-etching on different materials. His related research interestes include micro-fabrication and micro-optical systems. He also enjoys in playing badminton every week. |
