Chris DeLuca has completed a BS in Mechanical Engineering and BA in Mathematics at CU Boulder, and is concurrently pursuing a MS in Mechanical Engineering.  His engineering experience to date has been in industry, so this is his first opportunity to do academic research.  He worked as a product development intern for Syncroness, located in Westminster, CO.  He undertook a number of projects with Syncroness involving prototyping, numerous brainstorming sessions, and many hours of product testing.  He also created software to assist Syncroness’ part cataloguing.

He grew up in the mountains of Colorado, and enjoys outdoor activities including hiking, climbing, backpacking, and snowboarding.  However, the majority of his recreational time is spent practicing Shao-Lin Kung Fu, where he has obtained a 2nd degree black belt while attending college.

Chris is working on developing a Micro-Compressor as a part of a Micro Cryogenic Cooler project.  The Micro Cryogenic Cooler is intended to enable the development of a portable Terahertz Imaging system for DARPA.
